About Me

Hello!

As a Grammy-winning engineer and accomplished producer, I bring a unique blend of technical precision and creative vision to every project. My years of dedication to the craft of capturing sound have been recognized at the highest level in the industry. But my passion extends beyond the technical aspects – as a producer, I'm driven by the magic that happens when great songs meet the right production approach. When I hear music that resonates, it reignites the passion that drew me to this industry in the first place. That's the feeling I chase in every project – ensuring it permeates every note we capture. My approach isn't about chasing fleeting trends or quick successes. Instead, I focus on creating timeless recordings designed to captivate listeners not just next week or next year, but for generations to come. With every new project comes a sense of wonder and anticipation for those unplanned moments that transform good music into something extraordinary. To me, making an album is like bringing a new life into the world – unique, unpredictable, and full of potential. Drawing from my experience working with a wide range of artists, from indie bands to Grammy-winning acts, I offer both the technical expertise of an engineer and the creative intuition of a producer. If you're ready to embark on this journey and create something truly enduring, let's explore how we can amplify the heart of your music together.

Boulevard Recording

Boulevard Recording isn't just a studio—it's a piece of music history. Since 1966, our walls have resonated with the sounds of countless legendary artists, shaping the landscape of popular music.

Our Journey

  • 1966: Opened as Continental Recorders

  • 1970s-1980s: Home to the renowned Producers Workshop and Doug Sax's Mastering Lab

  • 1987-2010: Became Westbeach Recorders, a hub for punk and alternative music

  • 2010-Present: Reborn as Boulevard Recording under Clay Blair's stewardship

A Studio of Legends

Over the decades, our studio has been the creative home for artists like Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Bad Religion, and many more. From finishing "The Wall" to mixing "Rumours," some of music's most iconic moments happened right here.

The Boulevard Renaissance

In 2010, Clay Blair discovered this hidden gem and embarked on a mission to restore its former glory. Through meticulous restoration and modernization, we've created a space that honors its rich history while embracing the future of recording technology.

The Phoenix Rises

After overcoming a devastating fire in 2021, Boulevard Recording has emerged stronger than ever. Our rebuilt studio faithfully recreates the magic of the original space, now enhanced with state-of-the-art equipment, including our crown jewel: a new Sound Techniques ZR36 console.
